Where light meets the soul
In Paolo Fontana’s painting, landscape is never merely representation. Rather, it is a place of passage, a subtle threshold through which the gaze is invited to go beyond, to encounter a deeper, more intimate, and silent dimension. Its seas, its open skies, the horizons dissolving in the light, the trees traversed by precious reflections: everything contributes to constructing a suspended space, balanced between reality and perception.
The horizons that inhabit these works do not define a limit, but suggest a possibility. They are shifting lines, interior territories even before geographical ones, inviting the observer to lose themselves in order to find themselves again. In this sense, Fontana’s painting is an experience, more than a simple vision: a slowed-down time in which the gaze rests, expands, and allows emotions to pass through it.
Nature as an Inner Space
Nature, a constant protagonist of his work, is never depicted in a purely mimetic manner. Rather, it is a living presence, a sensitive organism capable of reflecting moods, memories, and desires. Calm, crystalline waters become interior mirrors; luminous skies open up like spaces of possibility; trees, rooted and vibrant, speak of the silent force of time and transformation. Each natural element is thus charged with symbolic value, becoming a universal and emotional language.
Light as matter and symbol
The central element of this research is light. Not a descriptive light, but a light that reveals, constructs, and transforms. A light that caresses surfaces, refracts, vibrates, and changes depending on the perspective. The use of materials such as resins, gold powder, red gold, and mother-of-pearl amplifies this dimension, making the painting almost sensorial. The surfaces come to life, changing before our gaze, inviting an experience that is never static but constantly evolving. Light thus becomes both matter and symbol: a physical presence and, at the same time, a metaphor for an inner search, a striving toward something deeper.
Painting, Emotion, and Transformation
Alongside the contemplative and luminous dimension of Fontana’s landscapes, a more intimate and narrative component emerges in his work. Some works are charged with a strong emotional intensity, in which color becomes gesture, energy, and movement. Here, painting frees itself from the need to represent and opens up to a more expressive, almost visceral dimension. The resins move, expand, and merge; the colors chase and clash, giving shape to complex states of mind, life transitions, and moments of crisis and rebirth.
In these works, the horizon shifts definitively inward. It is no longer a distant line to be reached, but a space to be traversed. It is the place where the artist puts himself on the line, translating deep emotions, tensions, desires, and vital impulses into pictorial matter. Painting then becomes a necessary act, a means to give form to what is not immediately visible, but is powerfully felt.
Technique, Materials, and Artistic Identity
Paolo Fontana’s career is rooted in the tradition of artistic decoration, developed through years of direct experience, study of techniques, and knowledge of materials. This solid artisanal foundation is reflected in his attention to detail, precision of gesture, and ability to construct complex and harmonious surfaces. However, it is precisely in the dialogue between this technical expertise and a renewed freedom of expression that his work finds its most authentic identity today.
Fontana moves between control and abandon, between planning and instinct. On the one hand, mastery of materials; on the other, the desire to let them live, to allow color and light to generate unexpected effects. This balance generates works that are simultaneously solid and vibrant, constructed and spontaneous, capable of appealing to both aesthetic and emotional sensibilities.
Inner Horizons – An Invitation to Contemplation
“Inner Horizons” thus presents itself as an invitation. An invitation to slow down, to pause, to engage with the work without haste. In an age dominated by speed and distraction, these images demand attention, presence, and listening. They ask the viewer to momentarily abandon the surface of things to enter a deeper space, where perception intertwines with memory and feeling.
As we traverse these landscapes, we realize that what we observe is never entirely external. Every sea, every sky, every reflection becomes a possibility of recognition. A fragment of experience that resonates, that evokes personal emotions, that opens up new interpretations.
Because, ultimately, every horizon is not a point of arrival, but a direction.
And every direction, if traversed with the gaze and the heart, inevitably leads back to oneself.

24/04/2026 Ed ecco l’articolo uscito oggi sul Giornale di Treviglio. Parla di me, della mostra in corso al Museo del Territorio di Verdello e del magnifico evento di domenica 12 aprile con la premiazione dei bimbi dello spazio gioco che hanno dipinto le loro tele esposte .
22/04/2026 E con immenso piace che vi pubblico il link dell’articolo uscito oggi su Prima Treviglio ed uscirà venerdì sul giornale di Treviglio. Parla di me e della mostra in corso e del magnifico evento di domenica con i bimbi.
12/04/2026 I bimbi protagonisti di questa meravigliosa iniziativa. Ho donato al comune 10 tele da far dipingere ai bambini, ed in collaborazione con lo spazio gioco di Verdello, hanno “colorato” 14 bambini con un’età compresa tra i 9 mesi ed i 3 anni. E’ stata un’esperienza unica ed emozionante. Di seguito pubblichiamo alcune foto mentre dipingevano perchè è stato davvero magnifico vedere i bimbi divertirsi ed esprimersi con i colori in tutta la loro semplicità e spensieratezza. Per questo motivo abbiamo deciso di regalare ad ognuno di loro un piccolo pensiero corredato da un attestato di partecipazione durante l’incontro con i bimbi ed i loro genitori oggi alle 16,30. Ecco alcuni scatti!!
The children are the protagonists of this wonderful initiative. I donated 10 canvases to the municipality for the children to paint, and in collaboration with the Verdello play area, 14 children aged between 9 months and 3 years “colored” them. It was a unique and exciting experience. Below are some photos of them painting, because it was truly wonderful to see the children having fun and expressing themselves with color in all their simplicity and lightheartedness. For this reason, we decided to give each of them a small gift along with a certificate of participation during the meeting with the children and their parents today at 4:30 pm. Here are some shots!

Ed ecco alcune foto della mostra!!! Si parte con l’iniziale passeggiata nel lungo corridoi dove sono state allestite una serie di salette con gli arredamenti e gli strumenti usati dai nostri antenati nel dopo guerra. La rievocazione della vita contadina e la meraviglia di quegli anni dove si viveva con quello che si coltivava e gli animali allevati in stalla. Una vita tranquilla, se pur tra le mille difficoltà di quei tempi, antenata dei nostri giorni, fatta di cose semplici immersi nella natura. In questo luogo che richiama alla mente tempi lontani ho allestito la mia personale, donando un lustro particolare e dal sapore autentico alle mie tele che si sposano ed integrano con gli ambienti allestiti. Durante il percorso ho spiegato le tecniche ed i materiali utilizzati durante la realizzazione dei miei dipinti regalando agli occhi degli spettatori la magia dei ricordi di una vita vissuta ed il piacevole stupore per le mie tele. Si arriva poi in fondo al museo, nella sala grande, allestita con il resto delle mie opere esposte ed i meravigliosi elaborati eseguiti dai bambini dello spazio gioco di Verdello. Abbiamo condiviso emozioni uniche ed irripetibili e per questo il nostro grazie più sincero va al sindaco ed alla giunta comunale che ci hanno permesso di vivere questa bella esperienza. Il tutto supportati e coadiuvati da una fantastica Alessandra, responsabile della biblioteca e del museo, che ha gestito con impegno e dedizione tutti i vari step per arrivare sino a qui. Da ultimo, ma non meno importanti, il gruppo dei bersaglieri che accudiscono il museo e ci aiutano nella gestione e nelle aperture al pubblico oltre alla loro ineguagliabile ospitalità e simpatia. (da non dimenticare gli aperitivi gentilmente offerti a base di campari con il bianco …… ) Un sincero grazie a tutti per l’accoglienza! Ora non mi resta che lasciarvi ed auguravi buona visione!! E se potete venite a visitare il Museo di Verdello. Potrete vivere un’esperienza davvero emozionante. Noi ed i bersaglieri vi aspettiamo a braccia aperte!!!!!
And here are some photos from the exhibition!!! We begin with an initial stroll along the long corridors, where a series of small rooms have been set up with the furnishings and tools used by our ancestors in the post-war period. It evokes rural life and the wonder of those years when people lived off what they grew and raised animals in stables. A peaceful life, despite the many hardships of those times, a precursor to our own, made of simple things immersed in nature. In this place reminiscent of distant times, I have set up my personal exhibition, lending a special luster and authentic feel to my canvases, which blend and integrate with the settings. During the tour, I explain the techniques and materials used in the creation of my paintings, instilling in the viewers’ eyes the magic of memories of a life lived and the pleasant wonder of my canvases. We then reach the back of the museum, in the large room, set up with the rest of my exhibited works and the wonderful creations made by the children of the Verdello play area. We shared unique and unforgettable experiences, and for this, our sincere thanks go to the mayor and the city council, who allowed us to enjoy this wonderful experience. We were all supported and assisted by the fantastic Alessandra, director of the library and museum, who managed every step of the way with commitment and dedication. Last but not least, the Bersaglieri (Italian soldiers) who look after the museum and help us with its management and public openings, in addition to their unparalleled hospitality and friendliness. (And let’s not forget the aperitifs kindly offered, featuring Campari and white wine…) A sincere thank you to everyone for your hospitality! Now all that’s left for me to say is goodbye and wish you a wonderful visit! And if you can, come visit the Verdello Museum. You’ll have a truly moving experience. We and the Bersaglieri await you with open arms!
07-04-2026 E mentre fervono i preparativi per la mostra, i bimbi si sono cimentati a dipingere le tele donate dal maestro Fontana. E’ stata un’esperienza fantastica!!! Ho il cuore che trabocca di felicità. Sapere che la loro naturale ingenuità ha regalato a noi tele meravigliose è un dono unico ed irripetibile. Un’emozione che non ha eguali!!! Gli artisti in erba, bimbi con un’età compresa tra i 9 mesi ed i 3 anni, si sono divertiti a dipingere ed esprimere tutte le loro emozioni con i colori. Qui di seguito vi pubblichiamo qualche scatto rubato durante le loro creazioni.
07-04-2026 And while preparations for the exhibition are underway, the children have tried their hand at painting the canvases donated by Maestro Fontana. It was a fantastic experience!!! My heart is overflowing with happiness. Knowing that their natural ingenuity has gifted us with wonderful canvases is a unique and unrepeatable gift. An emotion like no other!!! The budding artists, children aged between 9 months and 3 years, had fun painting and expressing all their emotions with color. Below are some snapshots captured during their creations.

E con immenso piacere condivido con voi le foto della mia tela presentata all’ Art Expo di New York in collaborazione con la Fondazione Effetto Arte. L’evento ha registrato un’importate affluenza di pubblico ed un particolare interesse da parte dei visitatori rivolto alle opere degli artisti italiani presenti presso lo stand della Fondazione Effetto Arte ed anche verso la mia tela e per questo ne sono davvero felice. E’ stato davvero gratificante vedere quanta attenzione e curiosità hanno suscitato tutte le opere esposte. Per questo motivo ho voluto rendervi partecipi ed ho voluto condividere con voi questi bellissimi momenti ringraziando la Fondazione per aver contribuito all’ottima riuscita dell’evento!!!
It’s a great pleasure for me to share with you the photos of my canvas presented at the Art Expo in New York in collaboration with the Effetto Arte Foundation. The event attracted a significant turnout and a particular interest from visitors, both in the works of the Italian artists exhibited at the Effetto Arte Foundation booth and in my canvas, and for this I’m truly delighted. Ho conosciuto persone stimolanti ed appassionate di arte che mi hanno fatto sentire importante in un mondo a me completamente nuovo ed a suo modo, coinvolgente. Un grazie particolare lo dedico a MariaGrazia Todaro della QueenArtGallery che non smette di credere in me e mi accompagna in questo percorso professionale. It was a true honor to exhibit my canvas—Tra luci e riflessi—at this international fair. It gave me new visibility in the interesting and fascinating world of Munich. Another beautiful and exciting experience in every way. I met inspiring people passionate about art who made me feel important in a world that was completely new to me and, in its own way, engaging. Alcuni scatti dell’esposizione presso la “THREE SHADOWS PHOTOGRAPHY ART CENTER – ART MUSEUM” A PECHINO
E con immenso piacere vi mostro il mio trittico video esposto in tutta la sua meraviglia. Sono tre tele che rappresentano tre piante dipinte in acrilico con polvere d’oro e madreperla. Da sole sono pezzi unici ed insieme formano un quadro di rara bellezza. Dal vivo rapiscono lo sguardo di chi le ammira, inebriando la vista di chi le osserva con occhio attento e curioso ai dettagli.
And it’s with immense pleasure that I show you my video triptych, displayed in all its glory. They are three canvases depicting three plants painted in acrylic with gold dust and mother-of-pearl. Alone, they are unique pieces, and together they form a painting of rare beauty. In person, they captivate the gaze of those who admire them, intoxicating the view of those who observe them with a keen eye and a keen eye for detail.
Un’altra bella esposizione in un luogo di particolare bellezza dalla cultura e tradizione millenaria. Un paese affascinante ed unico con tre millenni di storia alle spalle. Questa città è rinomata tanto per la sua moderna architettura quanto per i siti antichi e per questo motivo è stato ancora più emozionante esporre qui le mie tele che racchiudono una bellezza unica dal sapore romantico e sognatore. E con immenso piacere vi mostro il catalogo della mostra.
Another beautiful exhibition in a place of exceptional beauty, with a culture and tradition stretching back thousands of years. A fascinating and unique country with three millennia of history behind it. This city is renowned for both its modern architecture and its ancient sites, and for this reason, it was even more exciting to exhibit my paintings here, which embody a unique beauty with a romantic and dreamy feel. And it is with great pleasure that I present to you the exhibition catalog.

Non vedo l’ora di vivere questa nuova esperienza!!

In collaborazione con uno dei più importanti negozi di Milano per la vendita di cucine di lusso su misura, abbiamo creato una chiavetta con le mie tele da videoproiettare su un mega schermo durante gli eventi del Fuori Salone a Milano.
In collaboration with one of Milan’s leading stores specializing in custom luxury kitchens, we created a USB flash drive with my paintings to be projected onto a giant screen during the Fuori Salone events in Milan.

31/12/2024 Con la chiusura di questo anno, che per me è stato straordinario ed unico, colgo l’occasione per ringraziare tutti coloro che hanno speso del tempo per visitare il mio sito. Auguro a tutti, e ad ognuno di voi, un nuovo anno pieno di soddisfazioni, tanta felicità e soprattutto vi auguro che sia pieno di desideri che si realizzeranno, un pò come è stato per me questo anno che si sta chiudendo. Ho fatto tante cose belle ed entusiasmanti che mi hanno donato emozioni uniche, mi hanno arricchito e mi hanno permesso di conoscere tante persone interessanti. Ed è stato bello aver potuto condividere tutto questo con voi. Mi auguro che anche per il prossimo anno avrete il piacere e la voglia di continuare a fare lo stesso con tutte le mie nuove esperienze che non vedo l’ora di vivere. December 31, 2024 As I close out this year, which has been extraordinary and unique for me, I take this opportunity to thank everyone who took the time to visit my website. I wish each and every one of you a new year filled with fulfillment and happiness, and above all, I hope it’s filled with fulfilled dreams, much like this year that’s now ending has been for me. I’ve accomplished so many beautiful and exciting things that have given me unique experiences, enriched me, and allowed me to meet so many interesting people. And it’s been wonderful to share all of this with you. I hope you’ll have the pleasure and desire to continue doing the same next year with all my new experiences, which I can’t wait to share. 14-12-2024 E’ con immenso piacere ed orgoglio che condivido questo evento se pur non strettamente legato alle mostre delle mie tele. Questa mattina, presso la sede del comune di Mozzanica, il sindaco Simone Piana, mi ha donato un ATTESTATO DI RICONOSCIMENTO ARTISTICO E SOCIALE per il mio impegno e dedizione al lavoro ed alla bella riuscita dell’evento di settembre scorso con la mia mostra personale e la mostra dei bambini presso la chiesetta di Santa Marta. Sono orgoglioso, onorato e davvero commosso per questo riconoscimento. Per me è stata una bellissima esperienza molto emozionante, piena di piacevoli sorprese che sicuramente ripeterò il prossimo anno. I bambini che con me si sono messi in gioco esponendo i loro dipinti mi hanno regalato sensazioni uniche e vederli così emozionati durante la consegna dei loro attestati non ha avuto prezzo! Grazie di cuore a tutti!
December 14, 2024 It is with immense pleasure and pride that I share this event, even though it is not strictly related to the exhibitions of my paintings. This morning, at the Mozzanica town hall, Mayor Simone Piana presented me with a CERTIFICATE OF ARTISTIC AND SOCIAL RECOGNITION for my commitment and dedication to my work and the great success of last September’s event, which included my solo exhibition and the children’s exhibition at the church of Santa Marta. I am proud, honored, and truly moved by this recognition. For me, it was a wonderful, emotional experience, full of pleasant surprises that I will definitely repeat next year. The children who challenged me by exhibiting their paintings gave me a unique feeling, and seeing them so excited during the presentation of their certificates was priceless! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

07 Dicembre 2024 – Sulla strada di ritorno dall’inaugurazione della mostra di Vittorio Veneto mi sono fermato a Padova in galleria da @QueenArtStudioGallery per un saluto a Mariagrazia Todaro. Da ieri le tele sono state esposte al piano superiore della galleria anzichè a piano terra. E’ sempre una bella emozione vedere le mie tele esposte….. E l’ avventura continua.
December 7, 2024 – On the way back from the opening of the Vittorio Veneto exhibition, I stopped at @QueenArtStudioGallery in Padua to say hello to Mariagrazia Todaro. Since yesterday, the paintings have been displayed on the upper floor of the gallery instead of on the ground floor. It’s always a wonderful feeling to see my paintings on display… And the adventure continues.

Lunedi 23 settembre : la mostra è stata visita da alcune scolaresche di bambini delle scuole elementari e medie durante l’ora di arte. Le insegnanti hanno portato i ragazzi a visitarla dando modo a loro di confrontarsi con il maestro sulle tecniche utilizzate, le prospettive, i colori e tanto altro. E’ stato un incontro emozionante, divertente, interessante ma nello stesso tempo istruttivo e pieno di voglia di crescere e sognare.
Monday, September 23: The exhibition was visited by several elementary and middle school students during art class. The teachers took the children on a tour, allowing them to discuss the techniques used, perspectives, colors, and much more with the teacher. It was an exciting, fun, and interesting experience, but also educational and filled with a desire to grow and dream.
