Il mondo visto dai miei occhi... The world seen through my eyes.....

SASSOLINI

ACRILICO E SASSI TELA CARTONATA

40 x 30

ACRYLIC AND STONES ON CANVAS BOARD

40 x 30

There are stories beyond words, memories without faces, and traces etched upon the soul even when all else seems to fade. This work is born of the earth and of matter—from a deep need to give form to what we often cannot express.

Warm hues of gold and sand seem to hold the breath of a distant time, while dark markings chase one another across the surface like paths of memory—mysterious routes that intertwine, lose their way, and then return. Spirals evoke the movement of life: that constant ebb and flow bringing us back, in ever-changing ways, to the place where it all began. Then there are the pebbles—small fragments of matter emerging from the canvas to become silent presences. Each seems to carry a weight, a story, a memory. They are like those moments in our lives that, however insignificant they may seem, leave an indelible mark within us.

As I look at this painting, I like to imagine that these small fragments represent what remains after the passage of time: the loved ones who walked beside us, the experiences that changed us, the wounds that taught us resilience, and the emotions that live on within us even when everything feels distant.

For we are made of such things: fragments, encounters, absences, paths traveled, and dreams never forgotten. Matter thus becomes memory, color becomes feeling, and every mark transforms into a silent voice speaking directly to the heart.

This canvas does not seek to tell a specific story; it simply aims to remind us that nothing we have lived through truly vanishes. Everything leaves a trace—in the world around us, in the earth, and, above all, within ourselves. Because time can transform everything, but it cannot erase what held profound meaning. And even the smallest fragment can hold the immensity of a life.
